Art Quilts and Other Things

This is a blog about Art Quilts, Quilt Shows, starving quilt artists, and any thing else I might want to talk about. I will try and keep you up to date on what is happening with Bob. Since I am his "cheerleader" I thought this might be the place to do just that.

Feel free to chime in anytime you want. We welcome feedback.

I thought this would be the best time to do this with Bob having several classes coming up and I could let you know how they are going and show work on the blog page. Now I have to figure out how to get this published.

This is a picture of a Puffin. Bob just finished it. Once a year he slows down and does some animal for the Columbian Park Zoo here in Lafayette. He carved out the puffin on Styrofoam. Then covered it with Thiox and discharged the image. Kind of like a wood cut. Then he went back and added some color with Seta paints and thread.

Here is a detail of another Puffin. This puffin is made from a woodcut Bob did using oak. He used the same technique that he used on the Styrofoam block above.

So this is the blog. Come back. I plan on posting at least once a week time permitting. Thanks.
